We envision a
society where everyone, regardless of background, feels safe, valued, and
empowered. However, in the emerging new Bangladesh, many women are experiencing
a growing sense of fear and uncertainty. Why is this happening? Is the nation
truly aware of their struggles? Are we, as a society, genuinely concerned about
their well-being, or are we turning a blind eye?
Nowdays we
often hear news that can make a woman feel depressed and hesitant, making her
question whether this new Bangladesh truly belongs to her or not.
It is
imperative that we address this issue and ensure it reaches not only the
policymakers and stakeholders of the new Bangladesh but also those who hold
significant ideological influence, including Islamist leaders. Today, many
women hesitate before stepping outside, feeling increasingly excluded from
social activities and left behind in the race for progress. This is not the
vision of an inclusive Bangladesh we aspire to build.
We must
confront this reality head-on, seek tangible solutions, and create a Bangladesh
where no one—regardless of gender—feels abandoned, unheard, or left behind. The
time for action is now.
